Fallen (2007)
'FALLEN' comprises of thirty black and white photographs that contrast the female form with a derelict piano. The photographs seek to express the embodied experience of the pianist as an intimate and sensual attempt for reconciliation between the feminine and the piano as an impassioned object. This is realised through addressing notions of the body's significance in the actualisation of sound production, as well as how the body might fit into the various shapes and crevices of the piano by way of expressing their physical similarities.
'FALLEN' was made in collaboration with the artist-photographer Chris Parker.
