Fallen (2006)

The multidisciplinary performance 'FALLEN' fuses music, dance and installation. The interaction of the female body with the decayed piano is used to express intimacy, through a continued attempt for corporeal unity. The aim of this performance is to destabilise established visual conventions of the piano and the female image by presenting them in mutually objectifying scenarios. The performance 'FALLEN' uses live and pre-recorded sounds from the decayed piano that were then distorted through broken cylinder speakers and a series of maplin xducers situated on the soundboard.

The performance work 'FALLEN' was originally presented at Dartington College of Arts, in collaboration with the sound-artist, Paul Bull. It was then reworked in 2007 for a re-presentation at the Arnolfini, Bristol in collaboration with the performance writer Jerome Fletcher.
